Getting your Trinity Audio player ready... |
Dear 20-Something,
I write this with the hope that as you read each word in this letter, you will find the strength to move forward—because success is within your reach.
During my teenage years, I eagerly looked forward to adulthood. I would often say, “Oh, when I turn twenty-one, I will buy my first car and go on a traveling spree with my friends.” My dreams were valid, and I kept dreaming. But as my twenties began, I realized there was so much more to achieve.
There was a lot of work ahead, and many times, I felt overwhelmed, wondering if I could accomplish everything I had dreamt of as a child. However, I found strength and perseverance through my faith in God, which helped me push through.
The Place of Vision
What do you see? Where do you envision yourself?
Navigating your twenties requires setting goals and objectives without limiting yourself—because you have the potential to achieve them.
Think big and set SMART goals. Have a clear vision of where you want to be, and keep that vision in front of you. It will serve as your guide, even in moments of doubt, overwhelm, or discouragement.
Discover, Refine, Deploy
1. Discover
This is the first step—or should I say, the first tip—toward a fulfilling and successful life: self-discovery.
There’s often pressure to live like the people we see on social media or in our surroundings, but it’s crucial to understand that you have a unique potential within you.
It’s never too late to uncover your gifts, talents, and capabilities. Take the time to truly know yourself—ask, “Who am I when no one is watching?” Engage in self-reflection, evaluate yourself, and keep discovering who you are. You can find helpful resources online or seek insights from friends and those close to you about your strengths.
Remember, self-discovery is a lifelong process. Make it a habit to regularly reflect and uncover the unique qualities that make you, you.
2. Refine
Once you discover your potential, don’t stop there—focus on refining it.
In today’s world, everyone seeks value, and to stand out, you must continuously enhance your strengths.
Self-improvement is key. Take courses, expand your knowledge, learn from experienced individuals, and seek mentors who can guide you. The more you refine your skills, the more meaningful value you can offer to those around you.
Your twenties are your formative years, a time of growth and opportunity. Use this period wisely to develop skills that will set you apart and be truly appreciated.
3. Deploy
Imagine having something valuable to offer, yet no one knows about it—that makes your potential nearly worthless. The key is to put yourself out there. Let others see the value you bring by sharing your insights, experiences, and expertise.
Engage in conferences, events, seminars, and webinars, or any platform where you can connect with like-minded individuals. Remember, you can’t navigate your twenties alone—networking is essential.
Never Forget,
Do not feel anxious or overwhelmed when you see your peers achieving great things while you are still finding your path. As mentioned earlier, you have unique gifts and potential.
Embrace your journey. Identify your true self, trust the process, and keep moving forward. Find strength, guidance, and faith in what you believe. Never stop learning—true fulfillment comes from how much your value impacts others.
